Behind 1385 Summit Dr., Berkeley

This is the surprising extremity: way up alongside Berkeley, above Cal, up by the Tilden Park Golf Course. Indeed, the Claremont Hotel, Claremont Canyon, the UC Berkeley Botanical Garden, parts of Lawrence Berkeley Lab, the old Cyclotron in front of Lawrence Hall of Science, and the Space Sciences Lab are all in Oakland.
This extremity is along a service road behind houses on Summit Rd., off Grizzly Peak Blvd. It’s also adjacent to the Selby Trail and open land at the edge of Tilden Park.

I visited on a lovely autumn afternoon. I couldn’t find a boundary marker, though the last tree in a line is right next to the vertex. The actual point might be close to the middle of the service road.
